Conlangs December 9, 2020

Hi!! It’s been a while, hope whoever’s reading this is doing well! Lately I’ve been creating and redesigning a few of the many conlangs of the Cinnaverse!

Here’s one I recently designed, called (temp name) Bugnese! This is the language of planet Bugroo! I’m really proud of how the written and spoken language turned out. In the future, I wanna release a little guide and dictionary (to the best of my ability, I’m not a linguist x,D) for the language and others!

The inspiration for Bugnese’s apperance was this written conlang called Buglang, which comes from the written characters seen scattered in the backgrounds of Hollow Knight.

Here’s a few more written languages, for Primavera, Automatria, Medevlian, and Edonese!

Primavera’s written language was inspired by Arabic, Mongolian, and Japanese when written with a brush! I also wanted it to resemble a vine! I actually made an attempt at Primaveran last year, with the same idea!

How Primaveran works when it’s spoken and written… I’m not really sure yet, lol.

The language for Automatria was inspired by Matoran from Bionicle. It was also meant for planet Etolia, but I thought it would fit Automatria more! This one I definitely wanna make some tweaks too! I feel that if every character is the same shape, it could get confusing.

Medevlian and its Scath subgroup was inspired by new Hylian from Legend of Zelda. These two are all spoken by the Elfas of Medevla, but Scath Medevlan is spoken by dark magic (Scath) users in Etanna.

Drakken’s apperance was inspired by Iokharic from D&D’s Forgotten Realms. This is spoken and written by the Drakken of Medevla, dragon inspired aliens!

Lastly, here’s Edonese! Edonese’s appearance is inspired by standard Tibetan, but I want the language to work like Japanese!

That’s it for now! As I figure out the spoken language and how it works, all of these except for Bugnese and Medevlian will change.
